A lighting quotation should describe the complete operating system. A fixture may be offered without a compatible driver, control component or mounting accessory. Product appearance and wattage alone do not establish whether it will function correctly in the destination building.

Define the electrical and installation brief

Provide the destination, supply information confirmed by the electrician, mounting type and location. State the intended control method and any dimming requirements. Ask the supplier to identify the exact fixture, driver and control combination proposed, together with relevant documentation for the application.

Separate visual decisions

Record color appearance, beam requirements, finish and physical dimensions. If several fixtures will be installed in the same space, ask how consistency will be managed. A demonstration video may show operation but cannot reliably establish the visual experience in the actual room.

Before order release

  • Confirm the included driver and mounting components.
  • Obtain wiring and installation information for the installer.
  • Check ceiling openings and maintenance access.
  • Identify replaceable components and spare availability.

Electrical suitability and destination requirements should be reviewed by the responsible professional. Request a representative sample where performance or control compatibility is uncertain. Do not approve a substituted driver solely because the fixture still illuminates; its behavior with the intended control system may differ.

AN Sourcing buying notes. These are practical procurement checklists; specifications, service scope and destination requirements should be confirmed for the actual order.
