Kitchen cabinet quotations are difficult to compare when they use a single material description for the entire assembly. The carcass, doors, shelves, back panels, exposed ends and hardware may each use different specifications. Ask for a component-level schedule rather than relying on a headline such as premium wood cabinets.
Define the cabinet package
Provide the room layout, appliance dimensions and the location of services. Request drawings identifying each cabinet reference, opening arrangement and finished dimension. Separate worktops, sinks, lighting, installation fillers and decorative panels so that exclusions are visible.
Review the components
Record substrate, thickness, finish, edge treatment and hardware model for each relevant part. Ask how hinges and drawer systems are selected for the proposed configuration. If moisture resistance or emissions documentation is needed, request evidence identifying the supplied material rather than a generic statement.
Before production
- Confirm appliance clearances with the appliance documentation.
- Approve handle positions and door-opening conflicts.
- Identify fillers, plinths, end panels and installation accessories.
- Agree labels that connect cartons to the room layout.
A sample door is useful for appearance, but it does not verify the entire cabinet construction. Review a representative section or assembly where necessary. Have the installer confirm the final drawing and site dimensions before manufacturing begins.
AN Sourcing buying notes. These are practical procurement checklists; specifications, service scope and destination requirements should be confirmed for the actual order.
